Midway through the summer, I received a weekly LinkedIn update on my Smartphone. In some ways, LinkedIn parallels Facebook, in the sense that it is also a social networking site. The most significant difference between Facebook and LinkedIn is that professionals and their business communities subscribe to the latter. The LinkedIn weekly update summarizes all new connections established within the member's network. A former client of mine, who is a senior level manager in a well-known brokerage firm, left a message via LinkedIn stating he was going on vacation to the Jersey Shore for two weeks. He specified his dates of travel, including the date he would be returning to the office.

It is difficult to accurately pinpoint exactly when the notorious underground fashion trend called "sagging" erupted on to the scene. Nevertheless, this movement has been the inspiration of articles, satire, songs, police action, court rulings, political agendas, news stories, internet videos, and of course, blogs like stopthesag.net. In an attempt to raise the pants, there has even been an exorcism performed. In all probability, it was a Vegas levitation act and I may have neglected to mention: "inspiration of jokes."
